Wild Monterey Bay
Wild Monterey Bay is a collection of over 40 first person accounts in response to the question: What is your most memorable wildlife encounter in Monterey Bay? Some stories are from our CEO Nancy Black and lead research biologist Alisa Schulman-Janiger telling the incredible real stories from Monterey Bay. This book is a celebration of the bay and the people who interact with it.

We are beyond thrilled to have participated in the filming of the fourth episode; Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary. Monterey Bay Whale Watch hosted CKWP researchers and interns during the filming of this episode. Our CEO, Nancy Black was captain and science advisor for the portions of the episode on killer whales and able whales. MBWW's beloved videographer for many year, Jason Berring Jr. was part of the Netflix crew on board.

A member of our nonprofit, Bradley Vanston also assisted as a research intern throughout the orca filming. The rest of our team, Alisa Schulman-Janiger, Colleen Talty, and Tomoko Shimotomai helped provide background information on the different killer whales featured. Keep an eye out for the CA51s, CA51As, CA140Bs and the two calves!
