Research Assistant

Stephen Rink's fascination with whales began in childhood, fueled by an ever-growing collection of books and a relentless curiosity. At just 10 years old, his passion led him to a phone conversation with pioneering whale researcher Dr. Michael Bigg, whose kindness and insights only deepened Stephen’s dedication. As an adult, he traveled the world to observe whales, eventually settling in Seattle, where he became actively involved in research and shore-based naturalizing. His connections in the whale community later took him to Monterey, where he contributes to the California Killer Whale Project, furthering his lifelong commitment to understanding and protecting these incredible creatures.
